Ventura Land Trust is a non-profit land trust dedicated to permanently preserving the land, water, wildlife, and scenic views of the Ventura region for present and future generations. The Mountains 2 Beach Marathon meanders through much of the beautiful land protected and preserved by the Ventura Land Trust.

What began in 2003 as a group of citizens opposed to a proposed hillside development is now hundreds of members, businesses, community partners and nature lovers who share the common goal of protecting Ventura’s beautiful natural areas forever! 

Ventura Land Trust is committed to: Land Acquisition - Habitat Restoration – Environmental Education. Ventura Land Trust has  permanently protected 30 acres of open space in the Ventura River, and manages 60 acres more. They are currently in negotiations to purchase 2,100 acres of prime hillside property with the goal of opening the first large-scale, publicly accessible nature preserve in Ventura.

Ventura Land Trust envisions a Ventura with more trails, more hiking, more biking, and more opportunity to enjoy natural areas. Ventura Land Trust preserves and provides public access to open space while also balancing the protection of wildlife and the environment.
